CRITERIA: The Sandy Skrogstad Scholarship was established here at St. Andrews to help parishioners who want a Catholic education for their children and are in need of financial assistance.
Sandy Skrogstad has been a role model in our community for giving her time and resources to care for those in need. After the Vietnam war in 1975, when mostly everyone wanted to forget about the war and it's 125,000 refugees, Sandy was instrumental in personally sponsoring a refugee family from Vietnam. Sandy and her family took them into their house, helped with jobs for the parents, and helped them successfully integrate into our American society.
Her kindness and caring heart also extended into her passion of music, where she gave decades of her time into playing the piano/organ for St. Andrew Church and grade school. Her music still rings in the hearts and minds of the many students and families she has impacted.
This scholarship, in her name, embodies her spirit, passion and kindness for people in need, as well as her love for the St. Andrew community.
Recipient families should qualify for financial assistance through our aid program managed by the FACTS Management Company.
Additionally, recipient families need to be active St. Andrew parishioners and submit an essay as to why they would like to attend St. Andrew grade school.
